Professional biography

Anatolij Nikonov received his Ph.D. at Saratov State University (Russia), Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, in the field of solid mechanics. From 1987 till 2000 he was teaching at Saratov State University, from 2001 till 2002 he was doing at Soujt Bank University in London. Since 2003 he is teaching in Slovenia and abroad at graduate and undergraduate level. Since 2010 he is a member of Scientific Commeettee at »Danubia Adria Society on Experimental Methods«, reviewer in international scientific journals, member of Programme Committees of national and international conferences. He has published numerous scientific and technical articles and presented results of his research work at international and national conferences. His research interests are in the following areas: two- and three-dimensional problems in mechanics of composites and hybrid materials, asimptotic metods in mechanics, vibrations and wave propagation in structures, reology and characterization of polymeric materials, experimental techniques.

Researcher activities

Numerous scientific-reseach projects, international bilateral collaboration with the universities in the USA, Russia, Great Britain, Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic (financed by Slovenian Research Agency). Numerous R&D projects with industrial partners in Slovenia and abroad.

Courses and their applicability

The subject is intended for achievement of knowledge of mechanics in the field of statics, structural mechanics, kinematics and dynamics. Student is able to analyze the mechanical problems of engineering in general, and to apply the fundamental laws of mechanics to realistic problems.

The subject is intended for achievement of in-depth knowledge of mechanics of vibrations and wave propagation in structural elements in connection to realistic problems in engineering. Student is able to apply the laws and principles of dynamics in the field of mechanical systems.
