Dr. Georgios Kordogiannis has obtained his BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and National Technical University of Athens (Greece). He has worked as a postdoctoral fellow and later on as a researcher at Jožef Stefan Institute (Slovenia), KU Leuven (Belgium), National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), Faculty of Industrial Engineering (Slovenia) and Czech Technical University in Prague (Czech Republic). He plans, supervises and conducts experimental measurements in the fields of biophysics, soft matter physics and nano-materials, using a variety of techniques. He has 62 publications in international peer reviewed journals, more than 60 contributions in international conferences, 4 book chapters and 1 international patent. He has given invited talks in University of Ljubljana and Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School (Slovenia). In addition, he has been working supervisor for students performing diploma and PhD studies at Jožef Stefan Institute (Slovenia) and in KU Leuven (Belgium).
Experimental bio and soft matter physics by means of thermal, optical, structural and acoustic methods. Materials: lipid membranes, vesicles, liquid crystals, polymers, nanoparticles, quantum dots.
Participant in several International Projects and Centers of Excellence (Slovenia, Greece, Belgium, Czech Republic) and Coordinator of 3-year Project from European Social Fund. Collaboration motivator between the groups he has been working in the past and at present.
