Professional biography

Urška Florjančič has Ph.D. in Chemical Science. When she finished her study at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, she worked several years as assistant and researcher at the same faculty, and later at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the same university. During her PhD study she had training at the Wageningen University (Netherlands), Laboratory of Food Physics on Rheo-optics in food science. She moved to companies JULON, d.d. and DONIT TESNIT d.o.o. as a head of chemical laboratory and a director for the Research, Development and Quality Dept. At the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning (MESP), the Environmental Agency of the Republic of Slovenia she worked as a seismologist. Since 2016 she has a position at the FINI Novo mesto of the Assistant professor and is actively involved in the Institute for Scientific-Research Activities within FINI. She publishes scientific and research articles in domestic and international journals, and presents lectures at domestic and international conferences, congresses and workshops. She contributed papers for book chapters and prepared an university textbook.

Researcher activities

Her research interests are chemistry and rheology of materials, polymer processing, thermal analysis, characterization of morphological properties and viscoelastic behaviour of polymeric materials.

Other activities, projects

She was actively involved in the preparation process of launching European Master Study programme on Engineering Rheology in the frame of Socrates/Erasmus and managed the enrolment of the first students applied to Erasmus Mundus Master Course »EURHEO – European Masters in Engineering Rheology« when approved in 2008. as researcher at theFINI Novo mesto she is actively involved in the project »EVA4green – Eco-Safe Automobile for Green Mobility«, cofinanced from the EU funds for regional development in the period of 2016-2018.
