Fakulteta za industrijski inženiring Novo mesto je v ponedeljek, 7. 1. 2019 organizirala seminar, ki ga je izvedel prof. dr. Julius Kaplunov z naslovom The lowest vibration modes of strongly inhomogeneous elastic structures.

Dynamic analysis of elastic structures composed of alternating stiff and soft parts is of interest for many high-tech domains, including design of lightweight layered composites and manufacturing of soft robots. For such structures, the lowest vibration modes correspond to almost rigid motions of their stiff elements. Explicit approximate formulae are derived for the eigen frequencies and eigen forms of multicomponent rods, which are also relevant to thickness vibration of multi-layered plates.
