In accordance with the Rules on the First Election of the Rector and Members of the Senate of the University of Novo mesto, we hereby publish the total number of voters in each group:
All employees are included in the electoral register of employees, including those who are absent for an extended period due to maternity or parental leave, long-term sick leave or similar reasons, as well as employees who replace such persons.
All persons who have student status on the election day are included in the electoral register of students.
The Electoral Commission is responsible for preparing and conducting general and direct elections, which are held simultaneously but separately for each of the three groups of voters referred to in the first paragraph of Article 4 of these Rules.
The final electoral registers of voters entitled to vote for the Rector of the University are prepared by the University’s professional services and submitted to the Electoral Commission four days before the election. The Electoral Commission confirms the submitted registers by official record three days before the election.
All voters shall be informed about the elections and their right to vote in the same manner.
All employees and students entitled to vote must be included in the electoral register on the day of the election.
A voter who acquires the right to vote after the electoral register has been published and retains that right on the day of the election must be allowed to vote by the Electoral Commission.
Each voter shall have only one vote in the election.
No voter may be registered in the electoral register more than once. If a voter meets the requirements for inclusion in more than one group of voters, they shall vote in only one group.
If a voter is simultaneously employed by the University or one of its faculties for at least 25% of full-time equivalent employment and has student status, they shall vote exclusively as an employee in the employee group to which they belong.
If a voter meets the requirements for inclusion in the first group of voters and at the same time in the group of other employees, they shall be included in the group in which they are employed for the greater percentage of full-time equivalent employment. If they are employed at the same percentage in both groups, they shall be included in the first group of voters.
If a voter is employed by several faculties of the University, they shall vote at their home faculty, i.e. the faculty at which they are employed for the greatest percentage of full-time equivalent employment. If they are employed at two or more faculties at the same percentage, the Electoral Commission shall determine their home faculty, taking into account the predominant extent of employment, their organisational affiliation under the employment contract, and the actual location where they perform the predominant part of their work.
The Electoral Commission shall inform the voter of the determination of their home faculty.
If a voter is employed for at least 25% of full-time equivalent employment exclusively at the University’s Rectorate and is not employed by any faculty, their organisational affiliation shall be stated as the University’s Rectorate.
The Electoral Commission reviews and approves the electoral registers. The full electoral registers are accessible only to the Electoral Commission and persons responsible for conducting the elections; only the data referred to in the second paragraph of this Article are published publicly.
