The 10th International Scientific Conference on the Development of Industrial Engineering: Opportunities, Potentials, and Challenges for the Green Transition through the Use of Artificial Intelligence will take place on 14 May 2026. The conference is co-organised by University North, the Faculty of Information Studies, the Faculty of Organisation Studies, the Grm Rural Management College, and the public research institute Rudolfovo – Science and Technology Centre Novo mesto.
The central theme of the conference addresses sustainable development, with a particular focus on the green transition and the opportunities, potential, and challenges associated with artificial intelligence. Through the application of AI, industrial engineering gains a powerful lever for achieving green transition goals while supporting a competitive economy. The development of industrial engineering through artificial intelligence can contribute to sustainable development and the green transition by enabling improved decision-making, resource optimisation, and faster responses across fields such as energy and renewable energy sources, industry and manufacturing, agriculture, smart cities and mobility, environmental and nature protection, and policy support.
The conference traditionally promotes collaboration between industry and research and educational institutions and represents a unique opportunity to explore current trends in sustainable development and artificial intelligence. Knowledge transfer among leading experts and stakeholders in the field of industrial engineering is the core mission of this international conference. It is intended for scientists and researchers from universities, higher education institutions, and research institutes in Slovenia and abroad, as well as professionals from industry and the wider professional community.
